Sustainability at Imperial Polythene

Our commitment to a sustainable future through responsible manufacturing and community partnerships.

Reducing our footprint through commitments Carbon Footprint and Science Based Targets initiative (SBTI)

Monitoring is the first step to reduction. With our 2023/2024 carbon footprint audit underway, we will be working towards the ISO 14064 standards with Carbon Footprint by June 2025.

The fight against climate change requires serious action. To show we are serious and to hold our efforts accountable, we have committed to joining the Science Based Targets initiative by January 2027 with a robust plan to achieve the targets set.

Reduction through Education Supply Chain Sustainability School

We believe in taking proactive steps toward a sustainable future, both within our organization and throughout the entire supply chain.

Part of our commitment is ensuring that our team is empowered with the knowledge and skills needed to make responsible, environmentally conscious decisions at every stage.

To achieve this, we've partnered with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, investing in training to equip our employees with the expertise required to drive positive change in our supply chain.

Having reached silver in 2024, 2025 we are going for gold, hoping to inspire others by sharing our journey through a case study with the school.

Reduction through Education Environmental awareness initiatives

As a producer of polythene products, we recognise that a large part of our environmental footprint lies in the use of our products. The responsible handling and recirculation of plastic as well as other recyclable materials is crucial to building a circular economy and reducing our mark on the planet.

To share our knowledge with communities and schools, in 2025, we have a number of initiatives planned focused on improving recycling knowledge, sharing home composting tips and raising awareness on some of the pressing environmental challenges facing us today. From the biodiversity crisis to preserving our freshwater resources, we are hoping to reach as many as we can!
